What is Hypnosis

Hypnosis is without a doubt one of the most powerful change methods available to those people wanting to eliminate programs and behaviours that are limiting them from achieving their dreams and goals.

 

In fact we all experience some level of hypnosis every day and usually many times a day. Every time we go into a routine state where we no longer have to focus to do what we need to do we are in some degree of self-hypnosis eg washing the dishes.

 

In our lives we have learnt many things our education begins from day one by listening to and observing those around us, All this information is gathered and filed away in to a part of the mind where learning lessons are kept, till we need them again.

 

When we ask clients would you let a 4 year old tell you how to live your life? We get a horrified reaction like, Are you kidding? However this is exactly what is happening to many of us. Decisions as a child are directing our day to day life such as work, relationships, parenting, finances, addictions and health. Most children learn by observing their parents or main care givers. Our care givers reaction to things become our reactions a bit like monkey see monkey do.

Remember the 7 up series taking as its primary inspiration the remark attributed to the founder of the Jesuit educational system, Ignatius Loyola, “Give me a child until he is seven and I will give you the man”

 

Many issues can be glued together in the mind setting off a chain reaction to something that seems more out of your control then it needs to be. When we experience multiple similar events in our lives the reaction can become stronger and stronger as the reaction for each event has been added to the previous event or events and over time this leads to people over reacting to events and not really understanding why.

 

In Hypnosis we investigate this in a relaxed state and re-educate the mind to act to the same situation in a calmer and more relaxed state.

Some people imagine we are going to put you to sleep and make you do all sorts of crazy things, you would never do ordinarily. We are in fact only focused on helping people to improve their lives and not stage performances most clients find they are in a heightened state of awareness though highly relaxed but anyone can bring themselves out of this state easily and safely any time they chose.

 

Some people experience Hypnosis as a guided dream, they don’t know where the information comes from but they know it to be true and can recall events in great detail that were otherwise foggy. Every thing that ever happened to us is filed away in our brain somewhere. Some things we would rather stay there but sometimes we do need to seek them out, put them into a new perspective to allow us to move forward in life more freely to achieve our dreams and goals.
